Sport skydiving organises around four seasonal waves: (1) tropical winter — Eloy, Dubai, Florida, Algarve open when the north closes; (2) Southern-European spring — Spain, Italy, France peak; (3) Northern-hemisphere summer — UK, Northern Europe, US Midwest and Italy full season; (4) autumn shoulder — stable windows in Spain and US west coast.
Practical rule: never stop. If your home DZ is closed, one of the four waves is open. Italian jumpers wanting high currency typically plan 1-2 winter trips (Eloy or Empuriabrava in February, Dubai in December) and 1-2 summer trips (Voss, Summerfest, northern-Italy camps).
