SAFETY DAY

Collective safety update day. USPA-codified format adopted by many Italian DZs. Not a course: an annual community reset on fundamentals.

What it is

One day. The whole school. Total review.

The Safety Day is a DZ-organised collective event — typically once a year, often at season start (March-April). Lasts 6-8 hours, free for members, gathers all levels: from AFF students to 2,000+ jumpmasters.

USPA-codified format for decades, adopted by many Italian DZs. Typical structure: morning plenary on year's themes (relevant incidents, regulatory changes, gear updates), specialist afternoon workshops (freefly, canopy, wingsuit, emergencies), practical ground drills. Some DZs include demo jumps or community loads.

Attendance is not mandatory but recommended. Many Italian DZs use it as a vehicle for the seasonal refresher: attendees have refresher waived/reduced; non-attendees do it separately. Check your school's calendar.
