If you just want to try a tandem
A tandem only requires a self-declaration form you'll sign on the same day at the school. You state you don't have severe cardiac conditions, active epilepsy, pregnancy, or haven't taken alcohol/drugs in the previous 8 hours.
If you're uncertain about a condition (e.g. recent surgery, a hernia, ongoing therapy), call the school BEFORE booking. Not bureaucracy — it's to find the right configuration for your jump.
If you start the AFF course or aim at the ENAC Skydiving License (A level in the FAI standard), you need the Class 2 exam from an ENAC-authorized examiner (aeronautical term: AME — Aero-Medical Examiner). Duration: 45–60 minutes.
Doctor asks about cardiovascular, neurological, epilepsy, diabetes, current medications, recent surgery.
Two blood-pressure readings + standard electrocardiogram. Baseline cardiovascular check.
Visual acuity (with correction ok), basic color vision, simplified audiometry.
Joint mobility, spine, lower limbs to assess safe landing capability.
Standard stick for glucose and proteins. No fasting required.
Applies both to tandem self-declaration and Class 2 exam. Not disclosing isn't clever: it's a risk to you and a criminal false statement to the State.
Practical tip
The school running your AFF course usually has 2–3 partner AMEs at discounted rates (€100–140 vs €150–180). ALWAYS ask for the list before booking on your own: a standard sports medical certificate is NOT valid — you need the specific Class 2 ENAC.
If you're planning your first jump, the medical isn't an obstacle. Book with an ENAC school: the form is ready on site.
